DreamCarXchange is thrilled to offer at NO RESERVE this uniquely customized 1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, owned by current Cannonball Record holder and Switchcars owner, Doug Tabbutt!! This Cannonball Monte Carlo competed 2017, 2018, and 2019 in the C2C Express, the vintage Cannonball-tribute race. It won in 2018 with a time of 33:33 from NY to LA. This highly modified Monte Carlo features an upgraded 350 cubic inch LS1 engine from a Trans Am WS6, a B&M transmission, Summit Racing headers, modified suspension, Wilwood front brakes, a 60 gallon Pyrotect custom fuel cell, etc. It is finished in what appears to be a repaint of the original Ultrabeige exterior over Beige interior. It currently has approximately 110k miles (5k on the build) and is being sold with the invoices from Doug’s build (totaling approximately $45k), the original window sticker and a clean Ohio title.

Prior to the conversion, the car was purchased by Doug in 2016 from the estate of the original owner.
In preparation for the Cannonball C2C Express event, Doug completed extensive modifications including: installing a cammed LS1 engine from a Trans Am WS6, a B&M 4L65 transmission, Summit Racing headers, QA1 front suspension and rear coilover conversion, Wilwood front brakes, Camaro rear brakes, Custom exhaust, Custom driveshaft, Upgraded rear differential, Upgraded cooling system, Custom gauges w/digital tach, PSI Wiring Harness, Hurst Wheels, LED rear lights, Xenon headlights, Corvette C5 mirrors, 60-gallon Pyrotect custom fuel cell, NRG wood steering wheel, Wired for radar detectors, CB radio, scanners, and auxiliary lights, Brake/rear light kill switches, auxiliary power plugs and phone mounts, spare tire mount in rear seat.
The not-so-stock engine is a cammed 5.7 liter LS1 from a Trans Am WS6 breathing through Summit Racing headers, sending the power to the rear wheels via a B&M 4L65 transmission and an upgraded rear differential producing approximately 400 hp at the wheels.
The interior is finished in Beige and features a NRG wood steering wheel, custom gauges and wiring for scanners/radars, etc. Please note that the scanners, radars, etc. DO NOT come with the car, only the wiring. It also features spare tire in place of the drivers side rear seat.
Doug notes that due to its run in a Cannonball-style event, it is eligible for future vintage events (if they happen), including the 50th anniversary run in September 2021 hosted by Fred Ashmore which is open to all vehicles that have run in a previous event. SUBJECT TO DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS. It is not an automatic entry to the event, but the car itself is eligible.
Doug notes that it received a full service in 2019, however the A/C system needs some sorting out. Make sure you check out the 80+ additional pictures found in the “Pictures” tab above. Ultrabeige - the Cannonball Monte Carlo Competed 2017, 2018, and 2019 C2C Express, the vintage Cannonball-tribute race. Won in 2018 with a time of 33:33 from NY to LA, with over 2.5 hours of stopped time for fuel vaporlock issues and two separate detours off highway. Piloted in 2019 by Doug Tabbutt, Arne Toman, and Berkeley Chadwick, the same team to beat Ed Bolian's record just two months later with a time of 27:25 from NY to LA. Car was featured in a Cannonball documentary by the Discovery Channel (which has yet to be released and likely never will be)
